Lincoln County is growing faster by percentage than any other county in Missouri, from about 59,577 people in 2020 to an estimated 65,888 in 2024. It is still rural: roughly 72 percent of residents lived in rural areas at the 2020 census. Troy is the county seat. Ground and drainage

Upland soils here formed in loess and glacial till, and the soil survey lists low strength, frost action and shrink-swell as limitations for local roads.
