How we pave around St. Louis

The base comes first

Asphalt is only as good as what is under it. Potholes, sunken spots and many cracks trace back to a soft base or to water that had nowhere to go. So before we talk about hot mix, we look at the ground, the base rock and where the water runs.

On a typical job that means tearing out what has failed, grading so water sheds off the surface, adding base rock where it is thin and compacting it until it is solid. Then the hot mix goes down and gets rolled tight, with clean, supported edges.

Driveways and parking lots lead the way

Driveways and parking lots are the heart of what we do: a gravel drive a homeowner is tired of raking, a cracked driveway that is past patching, a lot at a shop, church or strip center that needs to be rebuilt or resurfaced.

We also build private roads, subdivision streets, farm lanes and access roads, and take on general asphalt paving. Chip seal, recycled asphalt millings and seal coating are available too when they fit the job and the budget.

We are based in St. Louis and work on both sides of the river. In Missouri that covers the City of St. Louis, St. Louis County, St. Charles County, Jefferson County, Franklin County and the counties past them. In Illinois it covers the Metro East, including Madison, St. Clair and Monroe counties, and the counties beyond.

How a paving job works

    Tell us your town and what needs paving: a driveway, a parking lot, a road or a repair. Call (866) 490-7680 or use the estimate form.

  2. Free on-site estimate

    We come out, measure the area and look at the current surface, the base, the drainage and how trucks will get in. Then you get a written quote.

  3. Prep and base

    Old asphalt or loose gravel comes out where it has to. We grade for drainage, add base rock where it is thin and compact it until it is solid.

  4. Pave and roll

    Hot mix goes down at the thickness on your quote, gets rolled tight and finished at the edges. We tell you when it is safe to drive and park on it.
