Why the base matters in Harrison
Southern Illinois winters swing above and below freezing repeatedly, and every cycle works on water trapped in a base. Sloped ground adds runoff that will cut under an unsupported edge. We compact in layers, grade for drainage and support the edges, which is what keeps a surface from unraveling from the outside in.
A cheap bid usually gets cheap somewhere you cannot see. Ask what depth of stone goes down, how thick the asphalt is after rolling, and who fixes it if water still stands.
Compacted asphaltTypically 2 to 3 in. for a car drive
